Salem – Laura Morett has received the endorsement of the Oregon Farm Bureau as their choice for state representative HD 20. House district 20 includes Monmouth, Independence and parts of west and south Salem. Laura said “I am honored to have received the endorsement of OFB. With over 7,000 member families professionally engaged in agriculture, this speaks volumes to the need to have an advocate at the Capitol for the state’s number one industry – agriculture.”
The Oregon Farm Bureau (OFB) is a grassroots, nonprofit, nonpartisan organization representing the interests of the state’s family farmers and ranchers in the public and policy making arenas. As Oregon’s largest general farm organization, its primary goal is to promote educational improvement, economic opportunity, and social advancement for its members and the farming, ranching, and natural resources industry as a whole. The voice of Oregon agriculture, OFB works to find solutions that will benefit all of the state’s agriculture producers.
Having grown up on a farm in Shaw, Oregon, Laura knows firsthand the importance of hard work and supporting your neighbors. “My father taught us that if there was a problem, grab your gloves, put on your boots and go fix it. And this is the attitude I have and will take to the Legislature,” said Morett.
Laura Morett is a lifetime Oregonian and lives in Salem with her husband Dan. They have three children and two grandchildren. Laura has worked in the legal field as well as help her husband manage their small business – Morett Construction.
