So you want a change in the leadership at the Capitol in Salem? And you want to help get Laura elected to House District 20? But you are just not sure what door to door means or how phone banking works. How do you write a letter to the editor – what editor?! Join Laura on Saturday, April 16th at 9 AM and learn how you can be a more effective volunteer.
We will spend time reviewing some basics of campaign and then put some of what we learn into action. And of course there will be coffee and goodies. When we are done you will be equipped to help get her elected to HD20.
Materials will be prepared for you ahead of time, so please make sure you RSVP to Raquel. She can be reached firstname.lastname@example.org or call 503.967.4329. Or go to the top of this page and click on ‘Contact.’ (Training will take place at 1594 Edgewater Street NW, Suite 170, Salem 97304. Next door to the Urban Grange, and across the street from the West Salem Safeway.)
Upcoming Volunteer Activities
Walk door to door with Laura in the late afternoons during the week. Or on one of our Super Saturdays: April, 16, 23 and 30. May 7 and 14. We gather at 9:30 AM and promise to be done by 11:30. Be sure to RSVP so we have supplies ready for you.
Make calls to fellow neighbors and share how they too can help bring common sense back to House District 20. Thursday evenings, from 6-7:30 PM, at the campaign offices of Bud Pierce, 2001 Front St NE, Salem.
Display a yard sign at your home or business. We will deliver it to you or you can pick it up at our campaign office.
Other Ways to Help
As with all efforts there are many ways to help – time, talent and treasures. This section of “how to campaign” is about treasures. Most of you know what that is-a gift of monetary value, either equipment or supplies or cash.
The campaign has two current needs the first one being used tablets. We would like the walking door to door to be seamless, efficient and effective by using tablets which will allow us to have real time voter information. Would you consider donating that older, unused tablet to the campaign?
The other need the campaign has is to continue to fill our “campaign chest.” Many of you have contributed generously to the campaign, and we are grateful. However, there are ongoing costs to campaign and we will be in continual need of money for operations. Would you consider making a pledge to help fund the campaign through November?
Please consider making an ongoing commitment for $50 per month now through November. The $50 monthly commitment will help us to plan ahead and utilize our resources in a diligent manner. Donations can be made online, click on the “Donate” tab above. Contributions of all amounts, single onetime gifts or many times over the course of the next several months are all appreciated and needed. Give online, or via mail.
Thank you and we hope to see you on Saturday morning April 16 for training and then putting that training to work!
